What is Speech-Language Pathology?

Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) supports individuals with communication, language, and speech needs. This can include difficulties with expressive or receptive language, articulation, social communication, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

How Our SLP Services Are Delivered

Speech-Language services are delivered by a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA), working under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist. This allows us to provide consistent, hands-on support guided by clinical oversight from a regulated professional.

What Can You Expect?

Services begin with an initial assessment to determine communication strengths and needs. From there, a Communicative Disorders Assistant — supervised by a Speech-Language Pathologist — will work with the individual and family to build an individualized support plan. Goals may include but are not limited to:

  • Speech clarity and articulation
  • Receptive language skills (understanding language)
  • Expressive language skills (using language)
  • Vocabulary development
  • Social communication and conversation skills
  • Peer interaction and relationship building
  • Parent and caregiver communication strategies
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) implementation
  • AAC language expansion and communication partner training

Services can be provided in-person or virtually.
